Ana Julaton signs with Bellator MMA

Ana “The Hurricane” Julaton takes her talents to Bellator MMA.

Former boxing world champion and MMA flyweight Ana Julaton has signed a deal with Bellator MMA.

First reported by Yahoo’s Kevin Iole, the 37-year-old inked a multi-fight contract with the Scott Coker-led promotion. In addition, the deal gives her the freedom to still compete in boxing, where she has held the WBO and IBA world titles at super bantamweight.

Inside the cage, the Filipino-American holds a modest record of 2-2 after her stint in One Championship, where she fought the likes of Ann Osman and Irina Mazepa. Before signing with Bellator, “The Hurricane” tried out in the latest edition of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) reality show, which has served as a stepping stone for many into the UFC. However, she fell short in her bid to be part of TUF.

Julaton joins the Bellator roster, where fellow Fil-Am fighter AJ Matthews has found success. She is expected to make her promotional debut in the coming months.
