Correia apologizes to Rousey for suicide comments

Bethe Correia has mad a name for herself through her ability to stir up bad blood between her and UFC champ Ronda Rousey, but the Brazilian bomber may have crossed the line in her most recent trashtalk.

Earlier this week, Correia told Combate that she’d grant Rousey a rematch after stealing her belt, granted that the former Olympic Judoka doesn’t kill herself first.

“I would give her a rematch so she wouldn’t cry so much,” Correia told Combate about her plan if she beats Rousey at UFC 190. “She can’t handle pressure. I will give her the opportunity to try and get the belt back. Please don’t kill yourself – don’t commit suicide, because I will give you the rematch.”

It’s well documented that Rousey’s father committed suicide after a sledding accident had left him paralyzed from the waste down.

Rousey wasted no time in issuing a response to Correia’s comments.

@bethecorreia suicide is no joke or selling point. My father will be with me the day I hand you the comeuppance you deserve.

Obviously, the Brazilian’s comments have earned her plenty of flack. She’s since offered an apology to the women’s bantamweight champ and asked for forgiveness.

@RondaRousey Never knew what happened to ur dad.I’m humble enough to ask u for forgiveness. Family is a godly bless to me. See u in #UFC190

Bethe Correia and Ronda Rousey will clash in Brazil at UFC 190 this August.
