Holm Cyborg

The women’s featherweight title fight between Cris Cyborg and Holly Holm will finally happen this December.

After going back-and-forth in negotiations and trading blows on social media, current women’s featherweight champ Cris Cyborg and former women’s bantamweight titleholder Holly Holm will finally square off for the 145-pound strap. The UFC has officially announced on its Facebook page.

BREAKING: There’s a title on the line at #UFC219!Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos is set to defend her undisputed featherweight championship against Holly Holm in Las Vegas on Dec. 30.

Cyborg is making her first title defense following her victory over Invicta FC bantamweight champ Tonya Evinger last July to claim the crown. The Brazilian is arguably the most dominant fighter in women’s MMA today with her last defeat dating back in 2005.

Facing Cyborg is former UFC bantamweight champ Holm, who has returned to the win column after a highlight-reel KO win over Bethe Correira in Singapore.

“The Preacher’s Daughter” gets another chance at the belt after yielding to Germaine de Randemie for the vacant featherweight strap. If Holm defeats Cyborg, she will make history as the first female fighter to win two titles in different weight classes.

UFC 219 is scheduled on December 30, 2017, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
