Kiwi Dan Hooker just picked up another win at UFC Brisbane, submitting the Philippines’ Mark Eddiva in the opening round via guillotine choke.

The beginning of the end came as Eddiva picked up Hooker’s right leg in a takedown attempt. The taller, lengthier Hooker maintained his balance and had no problem wrapping his arm over and around Eddiva’s neck in the process.

Hooker secured the choke and the Filipino ended up on his back, mounted, and tapping to the submission shortly after. Hooker picked up the win, his 13th pro win, at the 1:24 mark of the first round.

Eddiva, meanwhile, drops to 6-3, with 3 straight losses in the Octagon following a successful debut at UFC Macao.
