Edgar-Rodriguez bout added to UFC 211

Edgar Rodriguez UFC 211

Another exciting matchup is added to UFC 211 in the form of featherweights Frankie Edgar and Yair Rodriguez.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship adds a featherweight tilt between former 155-pound champ Frankie Edgar and rising Mexican Yair Rodriguez to its already stacked UFC 211 card.

Edgar (21-5-1) looks to resume his climb back to contention since losing to Jose Aldo for the interim featherweight belt in UFC 200 last July. “The Answer” is coming off a unanimous decision win against defeating Jeremy Stephens in UFC 205 and is aiming to go back-to-back.

Rodriguez on the other hand, has continue to show why he’s one of the hottest prospects inside the Octagon. Now on a six fight win streak, “El Pantera” aims to get his biggest win of his MMA career against the former lightweight king after stopping UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn early this year.

The Edgar – Rodriguez matchup will join the already stacked UFC 211 card which will be held at the American Airlines Center this May 13, 2017. Stipe Miocic and Joanna Jedrzejczyk headline the said card as they defend their heavyweight and strawweight titles respectively.

Also welterweights Damian Maia and Jorge Masvidal will square off while former lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez faces Dustin Poirer.
