Eduard Folayang to face Martin Nguyen in a “Champion vs. Champion” clash

Eduard Folayang will defend his ONE lightweight belt against Martin Nguyen in a “Champion vs. Champion” bout in Manila.

The reigning ONE lightweight king is set to face featherweight champ Nguyen for his second title defense at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City this November 10.

MMA Latest was first to announce the match-up.

“The Landslide” returns to the cage after his successful defense last April against Ev Ting. Folayang (18-5), 33, will look to duplicate that success in front of his countrymen against the reigning 145-pound title-holder.

Fresh off a knockout win over Marat Gafurov to win the featherweight belt, Nguyen (9-1) moves up in weight to challenge Folayang as he aims to become the promotion’s first two-division champion. The Australian fighter of Vietnamese descent is currently on a five-fight win streak. All five of those wins were via stoppage.
