Fedor open to fighting Fabricio Werdum at UFC 200

Fedor Emelianenko says that he’d like to have a rematch with current UFC heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum.

“The Last Emperor” expressed his interest to rematch Werdum in a recent interview with Epic MMA.

“I have nothing to prove, but I want to fight the best of the best and would like to fight UFC champion Fabricio Werdum,” said Fedor, who now fights for Japanese promotion Rizin Fighting Federation. “Maybe it will happen in the future.”

When asked if he’d be open to fighting at UFC 200, Fedor responded with a laugh: “If we agree on terms, of course.” Watch the full interview here.

Fedor became a legend in his career with Japanes promotion Pride FC, holding the heavyweight title there and going undefeated for more than 10 years. His streak came to a screeching halt in 2010 when he was submitted by Werdum in the opening round. This loss sparked a 3-fight skid for the Russian Sambo expert.

It’s clear that Fedor wants to avenge that loss. Could he get a chance to do so in the UFC cage?
