Filipino-American John Dodson draws Eddie Wineland for UFC Nashville

Filipino-American John Dodson looks to get back in the win column this April at UFC Nashville.

A bantamweight clash between number-nine ranked John Dodson and number eleven Eddie Wineland is set for the promotion’s return to Nashville. The UFC announced the matchup earlier today in their website.

The former two-time flyweight title challenger Dodson (18-8 MMA, 7-3 UFC) is currently 1-1 since his return to the bantamweight division. “The Magician” is coming off a tough split decision loss to John Lineker last October. The Jackson-Winkeljohn standout looks to regain his winning form against the former 135-pound interim title challenger. Wineland for his part is coming of back-to-back victories of Frankie Saenz and Takeya Mizugaki leading up to the fight.

Featherweights Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov will slug it out in the main event of the card which will take place on April 22, 2017 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
