GSP says he’s ready to fight Bisping…after October

Looks like it’ll take a while before we see GSP take on Michael Bisping.

It was announced in late February that Georges St.-Pierre would finally return to action after a three-year hiatus and would take on Michael Bisping for the middleweight title.

On March 3rd, the two had a heated press conference to officially set the matchup in motion. Since then, however, there hasn’t been any official fight date set for the two. GSP posted a video just a few minutes ago to shed some light on his ideal timeline for facing “The Count.” And he’s eying late 2017.

He posted:

Already, there has been backlash from fans regarding this announcement. The middleweight division is the most stacked in the UFC, with a number of qualified middleweights like Yoel Romero and Gegard Mousasi all willing and waiting to fight for the belt. These fighters, however, were leapfrogged by the more popular GSP for a shot at the title.

GSP’s targeted fight period would put the title runs in the stacked middleweight division on serious hold.

The question now is: Is Bisping vs. GSP really worth the wait? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
