Team Lakay’s Joshua Pacio takes a split-decision win over Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke at ONE FC: Warrior Kingdom in Thailand.
The 21-year old strawweight from Baguio City wrestled his way in the first two rounds. He took the former champion to the ground where he methodically landed his shots against the Thai.
However, things got an interesting turn in the final round as the bloodied Amnuaysirichoke got his second wind and almost snatching the fight from the Filipino. DSA was able to defend all of Pacio’s takedown attempts in that round and at one point, rocking the former title challenger in one of their exchanges.
When the decision was announced, two of the three judges scored the fight in favor of Pacio, declaring him the winner by split-decision. Returning to the winner’s circle after losing to Yoshitaka Naito for the title last October.
The win gives Pacio his second win inside the One Championship cage and improves his overall record to 11-1. Amnuaysirichoke meanwhile absorbs his second consecutive loss after going undefeated in his first six fights.
In the main event, Angela Lee retained her atomweight belt by stopping Jenny Huang in the third round.
