Contrasting results for Pinoy fighters Jomar Manlangit and Ramona Pascual at the sixth IMPI World Series in Hong Kong.
Jomar Manlangit scored another victory at the IMPI World Series 6 at the Southorn Stadium in Hong Kong.
Manlangit, a cousin of URCC champ CJ de Tomas, submitted PXC vet Anton Larsson via kimura in the first round of their catchweight affair.
Early into the fight, the Fight Farm Alumni was able to land overhand punches to his opponent. Larsson tried to bring the fight to the ground but was quickly countered by Manlangit, leading to the submission win.
With the win, the Fight Farm Alumni notches his fifth career victory in six fights.
In the main event, Filipino-Chinese Ramona Pascual struggled to find her groove as she yielded to Jennifer Leigh Norris in their title affair.
The Singapore-based American utilized her reach advantage, preventing Pascual to land her strikes. In the third, Norris took advantage of a Pascual takedown and submit her with an armbar to clinch the promotion’s lightweight belt.
Hong Kong-based Pinoy fighters Redd Baluyos and Roberto Medalla were also part of the said card and got different results in their fights. Baluyos defeated Adrian Fok to notch his first career win while Medalla lost a close decision to Yeuk Hon Ng.
