Ovince Saint Preux steps in to face Corey Anderson at UFC 217

Saint Preux

UFC light heavyweight contender Ovince Saint Preux will try to make it three in a row on short notice at UFC 217.

The number six-ranked Saint Preux (21-10 MMA, 9-5 UFC) fills in for Patrick Cummins, who had to withdraw from the card after suffering staph infection. “OSP” is coming off a first-round submission win against Yushin Okami in Saitama, Japan last September.

Saint Preux  is now seeking his first three-fight win streak since 2014. And he’ll have a chance to do that at UFC 217 against The Ultimate Fighter season 19 winner Corey Anderson (9-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC). He’ll be taking this fight on two weeks notice.

Anderson, on the other hand, is ranked right behind “OSP.” He’s coming off a first-round loss to Jimi Manuwa and will try to regain his footing within UFC’s 205-pound division.

The title fight between George St.-Pierre and middleweight champ Michael Bisping will headline UFC 217. In addition to that, Cody Garbrandt and Joanna Jędrzejczyk will also defend their titles on the said card happening this November 4, 2017 (US Time) at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
