Crisanto Pitpitunge wins in dominant fashion at Team Lakay Championships 14

Team Lakay’s Crisanto Pitpitunge made a successful cage return at the 14th Team Lakay Championship held in Baguio City, Saturday evening.

The former Pacific Xtreme Combat (PXC) 135-pound champ scored a third-round TKO win over Ralf Noy Francisco of D’ Elements MMA in the card’s main event.

In his first cage appearance since March 2016, Pitpitunge showed no signs of ring rust. He wasted no time in taking down his opponent and pouring down hammerfists in the opening round. Francisco tried to build some offense against the fighting policeman in the second frame; however, his efforts backfired as he spent most of the round taking punishment after another Pitpitunge takedown. Heading into the third round, Pitpitunge’s height disadvantage was hardly a factor. He floored Francisco with an overhand right, which was then followed up by a barrage of punches, forcing the referee to end the fight at the 1:23 mark.

Pitpitunge’s teammate Jon Cris Corton likewise earned himself a stoppage victory in the co-main event. He put away Jhunior Dapolit in the first round via TKO.
