Red Romero draws Chinese foe in ROAD FC $1,000,000 tourney opener

Former URCC featherweight champ Red Romero will make his South Korean debut this July in the first round of ROAD FC’s $1,000,000 tournament at ROAD FC 40.

Romero, who earned the right to compete in the said tourney as the Southeast Asia’s representative, is set to face China’s Bao Yincang. Nine other matches are also set to kick off the tournament, including two reserve bouts.

Joining Romero in the 16-man battle royal will be former champions Shamil Zavurov of M-1, Mansour Barnaoui of BAMMA, and UFC standouts Leo Kuntz and Nam Yui-Chul. The winner will earn the spot to face reigning ROAD FC title holder Kwon A-Sol on a future date.

In the main event, Openweight champion Mighty Mo will defend his title against South Korea’s Kang Dong-Kook.

ROAD FC 40 is set to take place this July 15 at the Jangchung Arena in Seoul, South Korea.
