Team Lakay’s Stephen Loman will challenge PXC champ Trevin Jones in the promotion’s first event for 2017.
Loman becomes the latest fighter from the renowned gym in La Trinidad to vie in for a mixed martial arts title. The 20-year old Team Lakay stalwart challenges bantamweight champ Trevin Jones in the main event of PXC 56 this March 25, 2017 in Guam.
“The Kid” has made a major turnaround since his knockout loss to MMA vet Rex de Lara a year ago at PXC 51. Currently, he is riding on a three fight win streak. Defeating the likes of Ernie Braca, Mark Abelardo inside the Terrordome and highly-touted prospect Frans Mlambo at Brave CF 1 in Bahrain.
He will be facing the likewise-streaking Jones who finally claimed the vacant PXC 135-pound belt after defeating Kyle Aguon in a back-and-forth affair last November at PXC 55. Prior to his championship win, “5 Star” also registered consecutive victories over Mark Abelardo and Jeremiah Labiano to earn a shot at the title when then-champion Kwan Ho Kwak vacated the belt after signing with the UFC.
The promotion also announced the lightweight title bout between JJ Ambrose and Koshi Matsumoto as the co-main event. In addition, Jon Cris Corton will also be part of the card as he faces Australia’s Charlie Alaniz.
