VIDEO: Team Lakay’s Corton says “power, speed, cardio” are keys to victory

Jon Chris Corton of Team Lakay remains undefeated in the PXC and wants to add another win in his rising career.

The young and talented Jon Chris Corton has won all three of his fights in Pacific Xtreme Combat and seeks to extend his streak in PXC 53. At the weigh-ins yesterday in Solaire Resort, he tells Dojo Drifter he’s happy he made weight and he’s ready to face American Rilley Dutro.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon kasi binigyan niya ako ng lakas na makuha ang (tamang) timbang ko kahit na mahirap siya kunin pero at the end of the day, alam ko na makukuha ko pa rin.” [I want to thank God for giving me the strength to get the right weight even though I know it’s hard. At the end of the day, I know I will get the weight.]

In preparation for his next fight, Corton has studied videos of his opponent Dutro. He says that Dutro is impressive despite a debut fighter in PXC. However, Corton remains confident in how he prepared with his coaches and teammates.

“Ang preparation namin more on power. (Ang) power (na pinaghandaan ko) ang tatalo sa kanya. Power, speed, and cardio.” [Our preparation is more on power. The power I’ve prepared for will defeat him. Power, speed, and cardio.]

“Happy Feet” Corton also shares his thoughts on possible title contention in the quick interview below:
