In the TUF Finale, Demetrious Johnson showed why he is the best flyweight in the world.

Challenged by tourney winner Tim Elliott in the finale, “Mighty Mouse” reigned supreme in their 5-round fight with the belt on the line. But unlike his recent challengers, Elliott made the most of his second chance in the Octagon that night.

The former Titan FC champ surprised the fans in the first round with his aggression. At one point, locking the champion in a series of chokes which seemed to put his undefeated run to a halt.

Johnson, however, restored order following the blitz leading to a 49-46, 49-46 and 49-45 unanimous decision. With his feat, Johnson secured the number two spot for the most title defenses, tying former champion Georges St. Pierre’s record at nine.

Meanwhile, TUF 24 coaches Joseph Benavidez and Henry Cejudo put up a highly competitive fight. In the end, the Team Alpha Male fighter solidify his spot in contention for the belt with a split decision win.

In other fights, Jorge Masvidal scored a TKO win over Jake Ellenberger after the latter’s foot got stucked in the cage. While Sara McMann spoiled Alexis Davis return with a second round submission victory.
