UFC 215 Complete Results: Nunes retains title via split decision

UFC 215 VALENTINA AMANDA NUNES

Here are the complete results from UFC 215.

UFC 215 hit a major speedbump when its original main event between flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson and challenger Rey Borg was cancelled last minute since Borg was not cleared medically to fight. Nevertheless, the card pushed through and provided plenty of excellent performances.

One of the highlights of the night was Rafael dos Anjos’ submission win over Neil Magny. Despite his severe height and reach disadvantage, “RDA” was able to subdue his lanky opponent on the ground, submitted him by arm triangle. The win gave the former UFC lightweight champ his second consecutive victory since his move to welterweight.

Additionally, former Olympic wrestler and UFC flyweight title-challenger Henry Cejudo showcased improved striking by knocking out Wilson Reis in the second round of their bout.

The night’s main event didn’t provide a finish, but it did provide plenty to talk about. The battle for the women’s bantamweight belt featured a rematch between defending champ Amanda Nunes and No. 1 contender Valentina Shevchenko.

After five rounds of action, the fight went to a decision. Despite the challenger landing more total and significant strikes on the champ, Nunes’ productivity and three takedowns were enough to give her the split decision victory (48-47 x 2 for Nunes, 48-47 for Shevchenko).
