The veteran Rex De Lara defies age and time yet again after taking another victory in PXC 53.

The veteran took his second PXC victory over Australia Top Team’s Darwin Sagurit at PXC 53 held in Solaire Resort last April 8, 2016.
“I’m ready for a brawl,” De Lara tells Dojo Drifter in a post-fight interview after his victory. “Darwin Sagurit is a very tough fighter. I respect him, but still, this is a sport and I give my best to win.”
In his PXC debut against Team Lakay’s Stephen Loman last January, De Lara finished the fight in the first round with vicious strikes. Fight fans were expecting another KO in the works from the returning heavy-handed fighter, but as De Lara mentions, “Hindi ako nag-eexpect ng knockout.” [I’m not expecting a knockout.]
“I go for the game plan. Kung ano ang ibigay sa akin ng Panginoon at mangyari sa laban at handa ako tanggapin iyon.”
[I go for the game plan. Whatever God gives me and whatever happens in the fight, I’m ready to take it.]
While time is never on the side of any fighter in the twilight of his career, De Lara shows defiance of this. He quips that he remains disciplined and open-minded in training.
