“The Bandit” Zebaztian Kadestam was supposed to make a quick return at PXC 54 to defend his title anew, but an injury has forced him off the card.
After an 11-second KO win over Glenn Sparv in Manila last April, Kadestam was ready to get back into the cage. But in an unfortunate turn of events, the PXC welterweight champion has pulled out of his scheduled title defense against Frank Camacho this July due to an injury he suffered in training.
A tweet by Bloody Elbow’s Anton Tabuena first broke the news about the Swede’s pullout from the said card.
Kadestam has confirmed his injury with Dojo Drifter and has expressed disappointment on not being able to fight following his successful title defense in Manila last April.
“Unfortunately, yes, got a hip injury and need at least one month of doing rehab,” said Kadestam in an online message to Dojo Drifter.
As of this writing, there’s been no word yet if Camacho will remain on the card against a new opponent or if his fight with Kadestam will be rescheduled.
